Sequel To A Slumlord

To my surprise, I received a check today in the amount my associates and I won for my company in a judgment against a local slumlord we rented from for a brief time. I say surprised because this crooked old man never came through on anything he said and didn't do jack shit as a landlord. This coming Monday I fully expected to have to file to have liens and whatnot put on his assets. Of course, I received more than a check.

Now, That's Funny

So I'm down a country back road on one of my evening runs when an SUV happens to pass me then slowly comes to a stop several yards up and backs up until the passenger and driver, two guys, can see me. They ask me if there's access down to a local river and I tell them probably not anymore as there's a residence built on the hill above it but that it won't hurt to double check. They thank me and then the driver asks, hey, haven't I seen you on tv somewhere?

Maybe, I respond slowly, looking around for potential escape routes.

'Til Death Dew You Part

Blood pressure normal. Not diabetic. So saith the good doctor during todays follow up to my visit several weeks ago when I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and prescribed medication. There were several contributing factors: I was dealing with a difficult client at the time and I was drinking copious amounts of Mountain Dew Amp energy drink to relax.

Straight Guys for Gay Brides

I think straight guys — especially those planning on nuptial agreements with the love of their life (whatever number she may be) — should support gay marriage. My reason is simple: divorce.
