Sequel To A Slumlord
To my surprise, I received a check today in the amount my associates and I won for my company in a judgment against a local slumlord we rented from for a brief time. I say surprised because this crooked old man never came through on anything he said and didn't do jack shit as a landlord. This coming Monday I fully expected to have to file to have liens and whatnot put on his assets. Of course, I received more than a check.

Google Chrome Yikes!
After Google removed some VERY scary terms from it's draconian user agreement giving it rights to all content published through it, I installed Google Chrome a few days ago because, as a web developer, I wanted to see how this new browser with enormous popularity potential rendered. It did a good job as far as I could see.

The Deepgate Codex
Normally, I don't pitch things that I like but I heartily encourage anyone who enjoys a rich literary, high fantasy experience to give author Alan Campbell a thorough read.

Now, That's Funny
So I'm down a country back road on one of my evening runs when an SUV happens to pass me then slowly comes to a stop several yards up and backs up until the passenger and driver, two guys, can see me. They ask me if there's access down to a local river and I tell them probably not anymore as there's a residence built on the hill above it but that it won't hurt to double check. They thank me and then the driver asks, hey, haven't I seen you on tv somewhere?
Maybe, I respond slowly, looking around for potential escape routes.

George Carlin
With the timely shedding of this mortal coil, the fantastically irreverent and always inspiring George Carlin rejoins the likes of Sam Kinison and Bill Hicks, philosophers all, now exchanging dirty jokes around the proverbial lake of fire if even a fraction of people they mercilessly mocked were in any way correct about the afterlife. Of course, George was a lifelong critic of religion which made it into and became a common theme among much of his biting social commentary. Probably why he made the perfect Cardinal in Kevin Smith's movie, Dogma.
